Fran Barton, MBA
From 2008 to the present, Francis Barton has served as the Chief Executive Officer for the consulting firm Barton Business Consulting LLC. He consults on financial, as well as operational, best practices and strategy, both domestically and internationally.
Prior to this, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of UTStarcom, Inc. (a $3B telecom company) from 2005 – 2008. From 2003 – 2005, Fran was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Atmel Corporation (a $2B semiconductor company). From 2001 – 2003, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Broadvision Inc. (a $200M enterprise software company). From 1998-2001, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (a $5B semiconductor company). From 1996-1998, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Amdahl Corporation. From 1974 – 1996, he worked at Digital Equipment Corporation (a $16B general computer company), beginning his career as a financial analyst and moving his way up through various financial roles to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of DEC’s Personal Computer Division.
From 1969-1972 he was an officer with the United States Army Special Forces serving primarily in Asia.
He holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an M.B.A. with a focus in Finance from Northeastern University. In 2003, he was awarded W.P.I’s prestigious Robert Goddard Award for outstanding achievement. In 1984 he graduated from Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development, and in 2006 he graduated from Stanford Law School’s Director’s College program.

Aemetis, Inc, 2013- present. A $250M bio-fuels company with refineries in the US and India. Lead Independent Director, Audit Committee Chair, and member of the Compensation, Governance, and Nominating Committee.
Inverntergy, 2014-present. An intellectual property acquisition and licensing company. Lead Independent Director, Audit Committee Chairman, Member of Compensation, Governance, and Nominating Committee.
